2009.06.06-13 Parashant wildflowers : I joined friends from JPL on their annual 4WD trip to Parashant National Monument, a million acres on the north rim of the Grand Canyon that has no paved roads and spectacular scenery. We were surprised and pleased to find that wildflowers were at the peak of their bloom. In eight days I took photos of 49 different species and color varieties. We had an itinerary and wildflower photography was not the purpose of the trip, but I grabbed quick shots to document the varieties when I could and did more careful composing when I had the time. I have not identified the species yet, but have grouped them by color and by variety. The 3 or 4 digits at the beginning of the filename refer uniquely to each variety, with the leading letters sorting the varieties by color. The middle group of 6 numbers represents the date the photo was taken and the last 4 digits are photo sequence numbers from the camera. As I identify species I'll update the photo titles.
